Sarah Muehlbauer: Artistic Director, Writer, Producer

Sarah is a former gymnast, current aerialist, and yogi. She studied Fine Art at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, and at Tyler School of Art where she received her Masters. She’s shown in venues as established as the Smithsonian, but more often is drawn to local sites that wear their history—her most recent piece Wind at my Back being staged at The Hatchatory, an old industrial rehab in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood.Sarah views her projects through the lens of social practice and collaborates with musicians and architects alongside visual artists and circus performers, staging projects that resist classification. Concepts explore the quest for transcendence within the trappings of the material world, with an interest in the divide between human beings and nature, forms of consciousness, and the socialized role-play that dictates everyday life.

Meg Skill: Artist

Meg grew up in South Jersey, and studied painting and fine art at Arcadia University, and abroad at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. She started aerial training in 2007, at once falling in love with the combination of art and athleticism—using feats of extreme strength to convey emotions and beauty.

Meg joined the staff of PSCA in 2010 where she shares her love of this art with adults and children throughout the week. She has an intense love affair with flying trapeze and trains with Fly School Circus Arts as much as possible. She feels beyond lucky to be part of such a talented and supportive circus community here in Philly.

Other days, Meg’s creative energy is released in the form of sugar. She started Nutmeg Treats in 2011 and has been steadily filling the world with cake, buttercream and sprinkles ever since. She takes orders for parties and events and also sells her cupcakes through Café Sweet Spot in Northern Liberties.

Jackie Zalewski: Artist

Jackie has been a performer all her life but since she discovered circus has stuck mainly to climbing on and hanging off of things.  She is also a proud member of the faculty of The Philadelphia School of Circus Arts.
